February is a very busy month for DCCPTA. We are working on a lot of exciting events to finish the school year. I am happy to inform everyone that our Presidents’ and Principals’ Luncheon will be in person this year! We will be back at UNF’s Adam W. 2022 -2023 Hurricane Disaster Relief Diaper Drive

DCCPTA will be doing a Diaper Drive to help those on Florida’s West Coast that suffered a great amount of loss due to the recent hurricanes. We will be collecting for Newborn to Toddler size diapers and pull-ups to ship over to help many families who are in desperate need of these.  We will have a collection box located at the back of the Cline Auditorium at our January 24th general meeting. A Letter from the President August 2022

Welcome back to all our Local Units for the 2022-2023 School Year.  I am excited about our new year, and we have so many PTA/PTSA’s that are re-starting.  We have a phenomenal DCCPTA Board this year and we are off to a great start with having our first board meeting in person since Covid. I have had a very busy summer attending the National PTA Convention and Hill Day in Virginia this past June as well attended the Florida PTA Convention in Orlando, Florida.  The DCCPTA delegates that attended the convention did an outstanding job representing Duval County and I was so proud of each of them. Florida Legislative PTA News Update March 1, 2017

We are less than a week away from the start of the Legislative Session.  The following is a synopsis of what happened in Tallahassee last week: HB78- Recess Bill – the bill passed unanimously through the Senate Education Committee.  The next committee of reference is the Appropriations Subcommittee on Pre-K-12 Education.  Florida PTA participated in a press conference along with Senator Flores and Representative Plasencia discussing the importance of recess for elementary students. HB 7027 – began as a committee bill and is a memorial urging the Federal Government to establish block grants for Title 1 and IDEA funding.  The block grant would give control to the state on how to disperse these funds.  It passed through committee.  This bill
